Acceptable content
From BeavrWiki
Introduction
The BeavrWiki is still a very new resource. Many of the policies that we are using to govern the wiki are being developed as we go along. We have posted here some general guidelines that will help you make an informative and successful post on BeavrWiki. As we encounter more situations we will adapt the guidelines to fit as needed.
Below are some general guidelines about the content you may post on the BeavrWiki:
- Please post information that you feel would be useful to students and faculty associated with OSU. You are doing everyone a service by adding useful information.
- Only administrators should post content on the main page and on the Acceptable content page.
- Please do not post autobiographical information. That's what facebook is for. You can write an article about important members of the OSU community other than yourself if it is objective and accurate.
- Make your articles as factual as possible. If you want to add your views on a topic, please make sure that it is done in good taste. Please don't use the BeavrWiki to exercise your personal vendetta's.
- Please do not rate your professors. Instead, provide objective information about the content and difficulty of the classes you have taken. A description more than the two sentences provided by OSU would be really helpful. See existing class pages for a good example.
- Class notes are acceptable on the BeavrWiki only with the approval of your instructors.
- Tests, exams, homework, assignments, papers, quizzes or any graded material is not acceptable. Any posting of this type information is in violation of the university policy on academic dishonesty. All information of this sort will be promptly removed by the administrators.
- Link your articles to as many internal pages and external websites as you deem necessary.
- Please refrain from adding explicit content or profanity to the BeavrWiki.
- Please do not post advertisements on the BeavrWiki. All spam post will be promptly removed.
- Avoid duplicating content from other sources if you can just link to it. Linking is one of the ways that makes a wiki such a great resource.
- When adding new content please list your page under the specific category or section that it falls under. This will help in allowing others to more easily access your page.
- Please feel free to edit, change or enhance articles that were posted by other users. Pleas do not just delete information just because you disagree with it. Instead just offer a second opinion on the subject. All information that is not in accordance with acceptable content will be removed by the administrators.
- Please tell your all your friends, classmates and colleagues to use and post on BeavrWiki.
