Team mission statement

The Oregon State University Hunter-Jumper Team provides an opportunity for OSU students to ride, train horses, and compete in Hunter and Jumper events. The team provides OSU students a chance to get involved with local and regional equestrian communities as well as an opportunity to improve their interpersonal and riding skills.

Information about the Team

Looking for a team to jump with? The Oregon State University Hunter/Jumper Team is a group of dedicated riders who practice and show together on the USEF "A" rated circuit. The Jump Team also runs between three and five schooling shows a year to fund its activities. We provide a place to meet people interested in showing hunters and jumpers and a chance to learn from each other's experiences while working towards a common goal. The team is coached by OSU Alumnus Jennifer Olarra. The fall of 2006 will be Jen's eighth year coaching the team. Jen owns and manages her own barn, Hampton Farms, just north of Corvallis, and has been training Hunters and Jumpers for twelve years. Hampton Farms has become the jump team's sponsoring barn; providing a practice arena and a college friendly atmosphere to keep team member's horses. If you're interested in joining a competitive show team for practices once a week and the occasional weekend show, please contact us.

Tryouts for the year will be held the first or second weekend of fall term
