About Us

The Oregon State University Intercollegiate Horse Show Assocation team, or OSU IHSA team competes against other college IHSA teams nation wide in riding competitions judged on equitation in Hunt Seat Flat and Over Fences, Western Horsemanship, and Reining. The OSU IHSA team has held both Zone 8 Region 4 Champion Western Team and Champion Hunt Seat Team titles for 4 consecutive seasons!

IHSA is a national organization and is broken up into 8 zones, and each zone contains several regions. A team competes during the regular season against teams within its region. The top two teams in English and Western, and top individuals in each class qualify to compete at Zones. The Zones competition is the top colleges in each region within the Zone, competeing against eachother. The National competition is the highest level of competition within IHSA.

During the 2005-2006 show season we were Team Champions of English and Western within our region. We took both teams to Zones in Sacramento, CA along with some individual riders that qualified too. Our western team did awesome and was Reserve Western Team for the zone earning them a position at the Nationals competition in Pennsylvania.
