Pharmacy Graduate Research

The College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University offers a research-oriented graduate study program in pharmacy culminating in the attainment of a PhD. Pharmacy Ph.D. students participate in drug discovery and research, not drug dispensing. Ph.D. graduate students may choose to pursue graduate research and coursework from among three pharmaceutical science disciplines, Pharmacology--the study of how drugs work and new drug targets, Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Products--creating new drugs, and Pharmaceutics--the study of how best to deliver drugs and how the body changes a drug. Each graduate student's program is individually designed to meet personal research and career interests and goals.
