Rifle Club
The OSU rifle club was established in 1944 so all OSU students could come out and learn how to use a rifle properly. It was also established so if you have had past experiences with shooting then it is a place for you to continue practicing in the sport of competitive rifle shooting. The rifle range its self has 16 firing point and is the only two story rifle range in Oregon.
Rifle Team
The rifle team consists of the top four shooters out of all of the club members. Anyone in the club is eligible to become one of the rifle team members.
Requirements
The requirements to become a club member are, show up to one of the rifle club events, and say you want to be a member of the club to one of the coaches or officers of the rifle club. There will be a fee to join the club it is either $35 for the year or $15 for a single term. There is equipment, rifles, and ammunition available for all students to use. Equipment and rifles are free to use but ammunition is available at a discounted price to students.
Location
The Rifle club is located at the indoor rifle range in the south-east corner of MacAlexander Fieldhouse.
Events
Practice
Practices are held every Monday between 7pm - 9pm and Wednesday 6pm - 8pm, during the fall, winter, and spring terms.
Matches
Matches are held for all skill levels, anyone that belongs to the rifle clubs in Willamette Valley League which consist of Salem, Eugene, Albany, Lebanon and Shedd. There are currently 7 teams in the league. The matches are generally held between January and February, but if you are interested you should get a match schedule.
